We offer an extraction tool for the hydraulic line port seals used in Mercedes E-Class W124 models.

These seals are located within the hydraulic ports of the cylinders and consist of a uniquely shaped quad seal and a brass support ring to keep the seal in place. With this special extraction tool you can remove the brass ring.

This extraction tool includes the following parts:

1 x special thread-forming screw, short - for all hydraulic cylinders except A1248000272 / A1248000772 (bow extension cylinders)

1 x special thread-forming screw, long - only needed for hydraulic cylinders A1248000272 / A1248000772 (bow extension cylinders)

1 x spacer - only needed for hydraulic cylinders A1248000272 / A1248000772 (bow extension cylinders)

1 x washer

2 x nut

Brass ring removal instructions:

- All hydraulic cylinders except A1248000272 / A1248000772 (bow extension cylinders): Remove the tension clips that hold the hydraulic lines in place and pull the hydraulic lines carefully out of the distributor/cylinder. Put the distributor/hydraulic cylinder in a vice with the hydraulic line port opening facing upwards. Now thread one of the nuts onto the short screw until it touches the screw head (some force may be needed at the beginning due to the unique shape of the threads). Place the washer on top of the hydraulic line port whose seal you would like to remove. Insert the screw through the washer into the brass ring using a Torx T20 screw driver. Proceed to turn the screw driver until the screw is fully seated inside the brass ring (the screw is fully seated either when the nut touches the washer or when the brass ring starts rotating). Now use one hand to hold the screw driver (and the screw) in place while turning the nut clockwise with a 7mm wrench. This will lift the brass ring slowly until it can be fully removed. After that, you can remove the brass ring from the screw by using a pair of pliers and holding onto the outside of the brass ring while unscrewing the screw.

- Hydraulic cylinders A1248000272 / A1248000772 (bow extension cylinders): Remove the tension clips that hold the hydraulic lines in place and pull the hydraulic lines carefully out of the cylinder. Put the hydraulic cylinder in a vice with the hydraulic line port opening facing upwards. Now thread one of the nuts onto the long screw until it touches the screw head (some force may be needed at the beginning due to the unique shape of the threads). Place the washer on top of the hydraulic line port whose seal you would like to remove (the lower hydraulic line port opening of the bow extension cylinders requires placing the included spacer on the lower shoulder to level the washer due to the two port openings being too close to each other). Insert the screw through the washer into the brass ring using a Torx T20 screw driver. Proceed to turn the screw driver until the screw is fully seated inside the brass ring (the screw is fully seated either when the nut touches the washer or when the brass ring starts rotating). Now use one hand to hold the screw driver (and the screw) in place while turning the nut clockwise with a 7mm wrench. This will lift the brass ring slowly until it can be fully removed. After that, you can remove the brass ring from the screw by using a pair of pliers and holding onto the outside of the brass ring while unscrewing the screw.
